OJCT Point System for 2008/2009

In an effort to fully disclose the tour's ranking methdology going forward, the OJCT is providing a summary of the assessment guidelines effective for this upcoming curling season. The full rules section will be published within the next two weeks as we work to roll out a new web site platform.

  • The tour will continue to use the same base point formula as has been in use previously, and is outlined below. Full points derived from this formula will be applied to all nine registered tour events.

  • Half points as derived from a modified version of the aforementioned formula will be assessed to participating bantam events. These events have to register though they do not have to submit tour fees, given the low proportion of points awarded to the participants of these events vs. the major junior events. The OJCT felt this was an important effort towards encouraging younger athletes to participate in the tour's junior events in the future or make the move from club curling to the competitive realm at an earlier age.

  • No points will be awarded to teams participating in OCT events.

  • Full point assessment will continue for OCA/NOCA Junior Regions/Associations and Provincials as per prior practice.

  • Half point assessment, relative to the structure for the junior provincials, will be made for OCA/NOCA Bantam Regions/Associations and Provincials.
